The writing center serves as a student, faculty and staff resource on the campus, offering easy access to consultants, tips and workshops that will enhance opportunities for everyone's success.
We design our programs to respond to the university community's needs in a timely, creative, and ethical manner to promote excellence in scholarship on all levels by providing one-on-one tutoring and consultations at any stage of their writing to undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff from all disciplines
In our approach, we recognize the importance of respecting the writers’ authority and ownership of their written work. That means we operate from a standpoint of collaboration and inclusion as we provide individualized help and encourage independence in the writers who use our center.
We can help
Comma or semicolon? MLA or APA references? We've got handouts, tutorials and podcasts.
We're happy to give tours, presentations or workshops for your students.
Our consultants complete a writing center theory and practice course, get 80-100 hours of study and training in their first year and we update their skills in staff meetings and training sessions.
