Score Interpretation

ACCUPLACER Reading Comprehension

  • If you score 78 or above you will register for English 191
  • If you score below 78 you will register for Supplemental English 190 and Reading 120 (Power Reading)
  • If English is not your first language and your score is 54 or less you need to retest or contact the ESL coordinator for additional help.

ACCUPLACER Mathematics

  • If you score 69 or below on the Elementary Algebra (EA) exam you will be able to register for:
    • Math 070
  • If you score 70 or above on the Elementary Algebra (EA) exam or 58 or above on the Intermediate Algebra (IA) exam you will be able to register for:
    • Math 072, 193
    • Stat 193
  • If you score 50 or above on the College Level (CLM) exam or 16-30 on the Calculus Readiness exam you will be able to register for:
    • Math 112, 196, 115, 201
    • Stat 219
  • If you score 60 or above on the College Level Math (CLM) exam or a 19 - 30 on the Calculus Readiness exam, you will be able to register for:
    • Math 211, 113
    • Stat 239
  • If you score a 65 or above on the College Level Math (CLM) exam or 20-30 on the Calculus Readiness exam you will be able to register for:
    • Math 221

Chemistry Placement

  • If you score 25 or above on the Chem 141 placement exam you may register for:
    • Chemistry 141 – Introduction to Organic and Biological Chemistry

  • If you score 24 or below on the Chem 141 placement exam you must register for:
    • Chemistry 131 - Introductory Chemistry for Health Sciences

 

Biology Placement

  • If you score 25 or above on the Biology Placement exam you may register for:
    • Biology 202 – Human Anatomy and Physiology I
  • If you score 24 or below on the Biology Placement exam you will register for:
    • Biology 151 – Cell Function and Inheritance
    • Biology 103 - Human Biology

Please Note:  It is very important that you meet with your advisor prior to registering for courses.  Your course selection is based heavily on your major and placement scores.  Not all students will take the course(s) they placed into.
