Score Interpretation

Accuplacer Reading Comprehension

  • If you score 78 or above you will register for English 191
  • If you score 77 or below you will register for Supplemental English 191 and Reading 120 (Power Reading)

Accuplacer Mathematics

  • If you score 69 or below on the Elementary Algebra (EA) exam you will be able to register for:
    • Math 070
  • If you score 70 or above on the Elementary Algebra (EA) exam and 49 or below on the College Level (CLM) exam you will be able to register for:
    • Math 072, 193
    • Stat 193
  • If you score 50 or above on the College Level (CLM) exam or 16-30 on the Calculus Readiness exam you will be able to register for:
    • Math 112, 196, 115
    • Stat 219
  • If you score 19-30 on the Calculus Readiness exam you will be able to register for:
    • Math 211, 113
    • Stat 229
  • If you score 20-30 on the Calculus Readiness exam you will be able to register for:
    • Math 221

Chemistry Placement

  • If you score 35 or above on the Chemistry Placement exam you may register for:
    • Chemistry 210 – General Chemistry I
  • If you score between 30 – 34 on the Chemistry Placement exam you may register for:
    • Chemistry 110 and Chemistry 210 Concurrently
    • If you score 29 or below on the Chemistry Placement exam you will register for:
      • Chemistry 160 – Preparatory Chemistry

    Biology Placement

    • If you score 23 or above on the Biology Placement exam you may register for:
      • Biology 202 – Human Anatomy and Physiology I
    • If you score 22 or below on the Biology Placement exam you will register for:
      • Biology 151 – Cell Function and Inheritance

    Please Note:  It is very important that you meet with your advisor prior to registering for courses.  Your course selection is based heavily on your major and placement scores.  Not all students will take the course(s) they placed into.
