Transfer Process

All transfer students following the AFA in Creative Writing to Bachelor of Arts in English: Creative Writing Transfer Agreement must follow the admission process to be admitted to St. Cloud State University. Students must complete the entire sending program and meet graduation requirements at both institutions.

This agreement is effective from 6/1/2025 through 5/31/2030.

Notes: BA majors requiring fewer than 45 credits require one of the following: one year of coursework in a single foreign language, or a second major, or a minor. Students must complete 40 credits of 300-400 level coursework to satisfy SCSU graduation requirements. ARCC 200-level courses that are deemed 300-level equivalents count toward this total.

Be Advised

  • All SCSU students must complete a minimum of 120 credits to graduate.
  • All SCSU students must have at least 40 credits of 300/400 level courses to graduate.
  • All SCSU students must complete a minimum of 40 credits of Liberal Education courses AND meet the requirements of all 10 goal areas, including RIGR and Diversity.

The college and university shall work with students to resolve the transfer of courses should changes to either program occur while the agreement is in effect.
