Testing Center Update

St. Cloud State University is in the process of relocating our testing center and anticipate the move to be completed by Summer 2021.  We are preparing a safe testing environment that complies with current COVID-19 protocols.

Our new site is located a few blocks from SCSU’ s main campus, is easily accessible and has ample free parking. Additional details will be posted here in the coming weeks.

Testing companies are not currently scheduling exams at our site. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience but please know testing services will be resumed as soon as possible.

The Welcome Center Testing Center supports the mission of St. Cloud State University by providing a comfortable and welcoming place for students, prospective students, faculty, staff and community members to take exams required for their academic program, personal growth or career development.  The Center provides a positive, service-oriented testing environment  that supports the best possible outcome from  the testing experience.

The Welcome Center Testing Center is part of the Center for Continuing Studies.  It helps support the mission of St. Cloud State University and provides services to St. Cloud State students, staff, faculty, the St. Cloud area and surrounding communities by administering exams required for admission to undergraduate and graduate school, admittance into major programs, for-credit exams, professional certifications and various licensure programs.  Within this framework, the Testing Center strives to:

  • Provide a public service by offering computer-based and paper/pencil testing services.
  • Provide a facility that offers a quality testing environment that is clean, comfortable, quiet, aesthetically pleasing, and user-friendly.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by being friendly, courteous, responsible, informative, accurate and supportive.
  • Collaborate with our faculty and administrators, other colleges and universities, testing companies, and national organizations to keep abreast of the most recent changes in all aspects of our testing services.

The Testing Center serves over 4000 people a year.  The center gives both computer-based tests as well as paper-based tests.  For all paper/pencil exams, the registration process is coordinated through the actual testing company via the company’s Web site.  For computer-based tests, registrations are coordinated through the specific testing company's web site.  For detailed information about registration procedures, click on the exam you are interested in taking.

The Testing Center does have limited seating; therefore, reservations for testing are made on a first-come, first served basis.  For most exams, payment for testing occurs at the time of registration.  Click on the specific exam for more details.

Special/Non-standard Testing Accommodations

Most of the tests given at the Testing Center provide a way for students to apply to test with special accommodations for a documented disability.  These arrangements must be made prior to registering for an exam.  Please refer to the specific exam for more detailed information and instructions for application.
