Alternative Testing Procedures

Some students registered at St. Cloud State University may require alternative testing arrangements. Students with visual, mobility, learning/cognitive, or hearing impairments may qualify under the guidelines currently in place as prescribed by federal and state laws. Professional staff members employed by Student Accessibility Services (SAS) supervise students who qualify for alternative testing and testing is done in the SAS office unless you make other appropriate arrangements.

It is the responsibility of the student to make arrangements for alternative testing.

Student Accessibility Services (SAS) is excited to share we have a new test scheduling process for our students.  Students who have been approved for testing accommodations will now be able to schedule their tests in SAS via an electronic form on our website.  Instructors will no longer be receiving a paper scheduling form from our students.  However, you will receive an automated email once a student has scheduled a test with us.  The email will be requesting proctoring information from you.  Please fill out the requested proctoring information in a timely manner. The procedure will be as follows.

  1. It is the student’s responsibility to schedule their test in SAS at least three business days prior to the date of their test by filling out our new online test scheduling form.
  2. The course instructor will receive an automated e-mail after a student has scheduled an exam. Please click the link titled “Proctoring Information Form” from the automated email to provide SAS with the proctoring information needed.  Click “Save” and the proctoring information will be sent to SAS.
  3. Our preferred method of receiving exams is via email to the SAS Office Manager, Jane Eckhoff, If you prefer an SAS staff to pick up the exam, please select this option when you fill out the proctoring information.
  4. Tests are administered M-F between 8:00am-4:00 pm in Student Accessibility Services, Centennial Hall 202.
  5. Test Delivery:  Completed tests will be delivered to your main department office or can be picked up between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday thru Friday.
