The Reading Teacher K-12 graduate certificate program will prepare you to become a specialized teacher of reading K-12 in your district or improve your own classroom instruction. You will receive special instruction on effective instruction and assessment for K-12 students who are struggling in reading.

Program Highlights

• Available at the North Branch satellite location and regional school districts by arrangement. A Monticello cohort is beginning fall 2017.
• Can be completed in five semesters, including summer sessions.
• Five course program — students take one course per semester.
• Courses taken for the Reading K-12 Certification may be applied to a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction. 

Program Distinctions

• Incorporates Minnesota Board of Teaching Standards for licensure as a reading teacher.
• The School of Education is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation and the Minnesota Board of Teaching.

Federal law requires publication of data associated with those programs of study, including approximate program costs, program length and employment statistics. The Minnesota State Chancellor's office has provided this report containing the aforementioned information for all required programs.
