Welcome Weekend is where your SCSU community comes to life. Connect with fellow Huskies, experience campus traditions, explore ways to get involved, and begin your first semester feeling part of the community, excited to start classes and proud to be a Husky.
Welcome Weekend Schedule
January 9, 2027
10 a.m. – 3 p.m. | Check-In for Welcome Weekend – at Atwood Memorial Center
Bring your Student ID!
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Husky Highlights
Join your fellow Huskies and SCSU staff in hands-on activities to help you make friends and unwind before the start of classes.
1 p.m. | Women’s Hockey vs. Minnesota State
1:30 p.m. | Men’s Basketball vs. Minot State
3:30 p.m. | Women’s Basketball vs. Minot State
Students get in free to all home sporting events! Redeem your ticket online.
4-5 p.m. | Husky Send-Off
Bring your supporters along for a send-off as you begin your new adventure at SCUS!
6-8 p.m. | Husky Kickoff Night
Enjoy bowling, billiards, and table tennis in the Atwood Memorial Center Underground
January 10, 2026
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Find Your Classes Tours
Join current SCSU students as they show you campus geared to your class schedule.
12 – 3 p.m. | Shuttles to Crossroads Center
Need to do some shopping before classes start? Check out Crossroads Center, which includes a Target! We’ll be providing shuttles for a limited time.
Welcome Weekend FAQ
When is Welcome Weekend?- January 9-10, 2027
- While programming is geared to new entering freshmen and transfer students, all SCSU students are welcome to join.
- There is no fee to participate in Welcome Weekend. Meal plans will be active, so please plan accordingly.
- No registration needed!
- Email orientation@stcloudstate.edu as soon as possible so we can coordinate appropriate accommodation needs. More information about accommodations on campus through Student Accessibility Services.
