All new incoming first year students who are admitted to the University will automatically be considered for a Presidential Scholarship. These scholarships, awarded through the Office of Admissions, are merit based and will not require an additional application. Consideration is based on the student's academic record, and/or standardized test scores. Presidential scholarships are renewable for up to four years pending SCSU GPA and course completion. Expect to receive a scholarship of $2,500, $1,500, $750, or $500 if you:

This award automatically reduces tuition costs for students coming to St. Cloud State from other states to match Minnesota in-state tuition. Eligible for incoming first year students and incoming first year transfer students.
The Red & Black Transfer Scholarship is automatically awarded to high-achieving new-entering transfer students with a cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or higher. The scholarship is awarded in amounts of $500 or $1,000 per year in fall and spring semesters based upon GPA and is renewable for an additional year if the required SCSU GPA is maintained. Students must be enrolled in 12 credits each semester to be eligible.
As the only school in Minnesota named to Phi Theta Kappa’s Honor Roll we are happy to offer our PTK Scholarship. Our $500 PTK Scholarship is automatically awarded to new-entering transfer students who are Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society members. Students must be enrolled in 12 credits their first semester to be eligible.
