Office of the Provost/Academic Affairs
The Office of Academic Affairs aims to provide our students with rigorous and engaging programs of study, with a strong foundation in the liberal arts and sciences. We seek to foster a learning environment that prepares students to be productive in their careers, engaged citizens in their communities, and adept at working with people from different cultures and backgrounds. The university’s 205 undergraduate and graduate programs and services are administered through the colleges, each headed by a dean.
The provost and vice president for academic affairs, who reports to the President, is the chief academic officer of the university and is responsible for advancing the academic and scholarly life of the campus. Working collaboratively with the deans, faculty and staff, the provost develops and administers academic policies, helps establish academic priorities, oversees the curriculum, encourages faculty and student research, supervises academic support and enrollment services, and assures compliance with system, state, regional and federal academic and educational policies.
