Steve Gompertz is a leader in Quality Systems management with more than 25 years of experience in the medical device industry. He is currently President of Quality Management Systems Potential LLC, a Minnesota-based consulting firm focused on helping companies avoid the common pitfalls lurking in most quality systems
His career includes roles in quality systems development and implementation, project management, engineering automation, configuration management, audit, and software development for companies including St. Jude Medical, Boston Scientific, Medtronic, Vital Images, and Control Data Corporation. He also works with many start-ups and suppliers to the medical device industry.
In addition to a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University, he holds certifications in quality management, project management, configuration management, and biomedical auditing (including FDA QSR, ISO 13485, EU MDR, and MDSAP).
Mr. Gompertz was also one of the original members of the Quality Education Committee that worked for more than two years to develop the Masters in Medical Technology Quality program for St. Cloud State University. He continues to develop curriculum and materials for classes within the program and teaches four of the required first-year courses.
