Beth Berila, Ph.D, 500-hr RYT

My current work focuses on the fascinating intersections of feminism, yoga, and embodied social justice.

My book, Integrating Mindfulness into Anti-Oppression Pedagogy: Social Justice in Higher Education, was published by Routledge in September 2016.

I have worked with two groups that merge yoga and social justice: the Yoga and Body Image Coalition and Off the Mat, Into the World. I completed my 340-hour Yoga Teacher Training and Ayurveda Yoga Specialist training with Devanadi Yoga in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Prior to that, I completed my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification with Senior Anusara practitioners, Martin and Jordan Kirk. I also co-edited the anthology Yoga, the Body, and Embodied Social Change: An Intersectional Feminist Analysis, with Melanie Klein and Dr. Chelsea Jackson Roberts (Rowman & Littlefield, 2017).
