Pay Your Bill Online
Staying current on your bill is an important step toward achieving your educational goals. Timely payment helps you avoid course drops and unpaid balance holds that could delay your progress or prevent registration for upcoming classes. They can also prevent transcripts and diplomas from being issued.
Making a payment is made easy with just a few simple clicks in e-service where credit card and e-check payments are accepted.
- Log into e-services
- Select Bills and Payment from the left-hand menu
- Click Make Payment

Payment Plans
St. Cloud State University offers two payment plan options:
- St. Cloud State Basic Payment Plan
- Nelnet Business Solutions e-Cashier Payment Plan
With each option, there is a service fee and participation does not guarantee the ability to register for subsequent terms. Registration holds are removed after payment is received in full. Balances due to accelerated online program courses are not eligible.
St. Cloud State Basic Payment Plan
The St. Cloud State Basic Payment Plan is self-monitored. The account holder is responsible for making payments by the deadlines listed on the Important Dates page. Payment reminders are not sent out.
Nelnet Business Solutions e-Cashier Payment Plan
Nelnet is an external payment plan provider and partner with St. Cloud State University.
Find the Nelnet Plan link in your e-Services account under "Billing & Payments" and sign up for or manage a current plan.

Sharing Account Access
Account holders may allow access to their e-Services account for purposes of making a payment on your account balance.
Follow these steps:
- Under "Bills and Payment" in e-Services, choose "Allow someone else to view and pay my bills."
- Enter the information (name and email address) of the person you wish to give access to your bill.
- Click "Send or Review Access Request."
- Both you and the person you are giving access to will receive an email from Minnesota State with instructions on how to activate the access.
- Have the person you are giving access click on the link in the email, enter the access code included in separate email, and click "log in".
- Once logged in, the person should be able to make a payment on your account.
Definitions
Third Party Payment: A third party payment is when tuition and fees are billed to another federal/state/county agency or an employer. Authorization must be submitted to Business Services before the due date so classes do not get dropped in the registration cancellation for non-payment process.Authorizations are posted to your financial aid award as they are received, but will credited to your bill at the same time other financial aid is applied. If the third party award does not appear on your financial aid account, check with the sponsoring agency before contacting Business Services.
Unpaid Balance Hold: An unpaid balance hold is placed on a student account when an unpaid balance exists for the current or a previous term after the due dates. This hold prevents a student from registering for classes in subsequent terms, or from obtaining transcripts and diplomas.
Unpaid balance holds will remain on a student's account until the past due balance is below $500. Hold exceptions can only be made at the discretion of the Director of Student Accounts.
