The Profession
Engineering Technologists perform a variety of tasks including:
- Make recommendations to improve product quality, improve productivity and reduce costs
- Implement new manufacturing technologies, processes and equipment
- Monitor and measure manufacturing processes for stability and continuous improvement
- Design jigs/fixtures for production
- Prepare layouts, drawings or sketches for production equipment using computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Assist engineers with design work
