Business Online Program

Note: This program is being replaced by an Accelerated Online version of the program effective Fall 2023.

 

The program is for students who've met the requirements for Herberger Business School Upper Division Status and are seeking an online bachelor’s of science degree in general business.

  • Aug. 1 deadline for a Fall start 
  • Nov. 1 deadline for a Spring start 

Applications are reviewed as they are received. Space is limited.

  • Courses are delivered by academically active and industry-experienced faculty members trained to teach the latest techniques for keeping pace with the changing business world.
  • Guaranteed business core course availability
    • Business core courses with reserved seats for the program are offered in fall and spring.
    • Students may also take online courses in summer.
  • Program consists of the following credits and requirements:
    • 16-22 credits of business core courses delivered online
    • 27 credits of general business major credits delivered online
    • Students may need some additional business core credits depending upon their previous educational background
    • Any remaining liberal education requirements
    • Any general electives needed to reach 120 credits

At the time of application students must meet the following requirements in order to be considered for admission into the program. Eligibility does not guarantee admission, as space is limited.

Application Process

Incoming students

Step 1

When asked within the application to Add Major/Program, select the following options:

  • Preferred delivery method: Online
  • Desired major/academic program: General Business

Step 2

After you complete the application, you will receive an email with additional information and a link to complete a brief General Business Online Program application.

Step 3

Make an in-person, phone, or email appointment with an advisor in the HBS Advising and Student Success Center. Center. During this meeting, your advisor will discuss the requirements of the program, determine eligibility, and answer any questions you may have.
