Assessment

A thorough assessment of what skills your child already has is crucial to our ability to meet them where they are and build on their existing strengths. We will directly observe how your child performs various skills and activities so we can identify age and skill-appropriate goals and make the most of our session time.

Skills Building

Based on the results of your child’s assessment, we will develop programs to teach specific skills according to their short and long-term goals. These skills may include improving communication, daily-living, or self-care skills; social interaction; academic targets; health and safety skills; or other behaviors to improve your child’s life and independence.

Behavior Management

Based on the results of your child’s assessment, we will develop programs to decrease behaviors that are barriers to learning and independence. These programs typically involve teaching alternative methods of accessing what they want or need. The purpose of these programs is to teach your child skills that are most likely to achieve their goals in the community and that will naturally replace less successful or useful repertoires.

Caregiver Training

Our goal is to teach your child skills they will be able to use for the rest of their lives, and to teach you how to continue supporting those behaviors outside of our center. We will provide hands-on training to any caregivers or family members to ensure that the progress your child makes with us continues long after they leave our services.

Teleconsultation

In addition to supporting clients and families in the greater St. Cloud area, we offer HIPAA-secure teleconsultation services to families who may not be able to come to our campus. Teleconsultation is a crucial skill in the current health and human-service model, and we aim to train our student-clinicians to support clients in a variety of modalities.

Social Support

Based on your child's assessment results, we will develop programs to teach skills that would develop positive social interactions and relationships with peers and adults.
