Rochelle Dyer

Rochelle DyerRochelle Dyer has worked at St. Cloud State University since 2017, first an adjunct, and later joining the faculty full time as the Director of Social Studies Education in 2020. She has also served as the edTPA and Pathway to 18 Coordinators for the College of Education and Learning Design. During her time at St. Cloud State, Rochelle has led a collaborative update to the undergraduate Social Studies Education program, as well as designed a new Master of Science program in Social Studies Education. She has partnered with the Departments of Geography, Economics and Political Science, as well as Business, to create graduate certificates for educators that provide the credentials for teaching concurrent enrollment courses at the secondary level or for post-secondary social studies instructors in those content areas. Rochelle is a licensed K-12 principal and superintendent. Prior to working at St. Cloud State, she taught middle and high school social studies in the Sartell-St. Stephen School District including global studies, world history, civics, geography, and U.S. history.

Currently, Rochelle is working on research related to high school to college transitions, as well as research exploring the political geography of wine in Minnesota. She serves on the board of directors for the Minnesota Council for the Social Studies, is a part of the Social Studies Methods Instructor Network, has facilitated workshops and conference sessions for K-12 and pre-service teachers, serves on local area school district committees, and has been a conference session reviewer for the National Council for the Social Studies.

Rochelle holds a Ed. S. in Educational Administration from St. Cloud State University. M.S. in Social Studies Education from St. Cloud State University. B.S. in Social Studies Education and International Relations from St. Cloud State University. Current doctoral candidate in Educational Administration and Leadership.
