Institutional Update

SCSU completes an annual HLC survey on its organizational health – it includes both financial and non-financial data.

Substantive Change

SCSU documents and either notifies or secures approval for ongoing substantive changes including new programs/certificates; changes to current program/certificate content, credit hours, modes of delivery, or learning outcomes; programs offered through contractual agreements; new locations; and organizational control.

Additional Location and Branch Campus Reviews

SCSU notifies or secures approval from HLC when it opens, closes, relocates, or reclassifies its locations.

HLC Reaffirmation Activity Timeline

Fall 2024/Spring 2025

Initiate the HLC Reaffirmation Steering Team and Criterion Working Groups; train and develop Steering Team - HLC Annual Conference, April 2025

Fall 2025/Spring 2026

Gather information and evidence to illustrate SCSU meets the HLC Criteria for Accreditation; draft assurance arguments; organize evidence

Summer 2026

Prepare initial draft of the Assurance Argument Report; review/edit

Fall 2026

Gather feedback and input from campus community on report; file federal compliance report; administer student survey; finalize visit arrangements

January 2027

Prepare campus for the Peer Review Team visit; final report locked

February 22-23, 2027

Peer Review Team on-site visit
