Special Education Administration

The Special Education Administration Certificate in the Educational Administration and Leadership program develops leaders for Minnesota's schools. The program provides coursework leading to eligibility for an administrative license and is approved by the Minnesota Board of School Administrators (BOSA) for meeting the professional preparation requirements for licensure as a Director of Special Education.

Courses offered are competency-based and focused on developing the skills and personal traits necessary for successful school administration and leadership. This program is student-centered and provides advanced principles of leadership to guide the practice of educational leaders so they can meet the needs of all learners and achieve more equitable outcomes.

As learning organizations and society continue to evolve, this program is designed to ensure that educational leaders are ready to meet the challenges and opportunities of today and the future. This certificate program is delivered through a variety of delivery modes to meet the needs of our professional learners. Upon completion of the Special Education Administration graduate certificate a graduate may choose to pursue a Doctor of Education, using select courses from this certificate.
