A Community Growing Together

Fall is Here!!
The time for St. Cloud State Community Garden season to end is approaching. We have had a fantastic and productive season with wonderful volunteers but there is still plenty to do. The next two weekends will involve the important work of putting the garden to bed:
  • Sunday, Oct. 21: As has been the case throughout the summer, our work time will begin at 3:30. We will do some of the work of putting the garden to bed and, as usual, enjoy the company of our fellow gardeners. The weather should be warmer, so it should be a nice time to gather in the garden. Even if you have not yet had a chance to participate in the garden this season, you are more than welcome to join us!
  • Saturday, Oct. 27: beginning around 9:30 am will will gather in the garden to officially put the garden to bed. We will pull all of the debris out of the garden, trim back the raspberries, clean the sheds, do some tilling, plant the garlic, etc. We will also share some food, hot beverages, and each other's company. We hope to get all of the work done that day, but may need some additional work on Sunday, the 28th. Even if you are only able to help out for a little while, your participation is very welcome and valuable. We need as many volunteers as possible on this day and every bit helps! Note: If you have students who are in need of volunteer hours, this is a great chance for them to participate and learn more about the garden and our community.
