Antiracist Pedagogy Across the Curriculum (ARPAC)

ARPAC Institute

Event flyer2023 Virtual ARPAC Institute

The 12th annual Antiracist Pedagogy Across the Curriculum (ARPAC) Institute will be held virtually through Zoom. The award-winning institute is open to teaching faculty from all higher education institutions. This year, we invite teams of 2-5 faculty per institution to apply for one of two cohorts. Slots for individuals without a team are also available.

  • Cohort 1: June 1 (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) and June 5-9 (8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.)
  • Cohort 2: June 2 (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) and June 5-9 (1 – 4:30 p.m.)

Please be sure each person from your team registers at the same time to ensure placement in the same cohort.

The ARPAC Institute provides intensive professional development for faculty committed to incorporating antiracist pedagogy into their courses; it is not a train-the-trainer program. ARPAC engages faculty in an analysis of systemic racism and provides a conceptual framework focused on antiracist pedagogy for a rigorous and relevant curriculum. The institute also provides the ongoing ARPAC Community of Practice to support faculty, across the curriculum, in their teaching and commitment to antiracist praxis. In addition, participating faculty are encouraged to develop campus-specific strategies for broader antiracism organizing across their institutions.

The 2023 Virtual ARPAC offers a curriculum designed specifically for the virtual environment. In order to create authentic community, participants will be expected to keep their video on and be fully present.
