Student Opportunities

Experiences outside the classroom - with students, faculty and the larger community - will enrich your education. Many student organizations and national associations give our students networking, volunteer, professional and learning opportunities.

Student Organizations

American Meteorological Society

A student chapter of the national organization, the club's goal is to connect meteorology students to professional meteorologists in Minnesota.

National Weather Association

The Central Minnesota Chapter of the National Weather Association promotes the study and appreciation of weather and meteorology through a series of semi-weekly meeting, activities, videos and field trips. Membership is open to all St. Cloud State students with an interest in the weather.

Storm Chase Club

The St. Cloud State Storm Chase Club was founded in November 2008. Members seek to gain a better understanding of severe weather and to see it first hand. The club brings together weather enthusiasts to share their unique passion together.

Hydrology/Geology Club

The Hydrology/Geology Club is for students who have an interest in water. The meetings consist of current hydrologic topics and information about job/internship opportunities.
