Metro Transit

Metro Bus - St. Cloud Area Bus System

Metro Bus provides extensive routes covering much of St. Cloud and the surrounding area. All currently enrolled SCSU and SCTCC students and employees can ride free with a valid school ID.

The following services are offered through Metro Bus. For more information about Metro Bus and their different routes, go to the Metro Bus web site or try their Interactive Route Map.

  • Husky Shuttle The Husky Shuttle is an on-campus route which runs only on weekdays and begins and ends at the Wick Science building. During daytime hours, the route runs every 10 minutes and loops south past the Husky Stadium and to the Husky Hub in K-Lot. During evening hours (until 9:49PM), the route runs every 20 minutes and also extends north past the Atwood Memorial Center and residence halls.
  • Sundowner The Sundowner is an evening/late night route which runs Sunday through Wednesday until 10:15PM and until 12:15AM Thursday through Saturday.  It begins and ends at the Miller Learning Resource Center. The route runs every 30 minutes and includes stops in K-Lot on campus as well as area neighborhoods.
  • Late-Night The Late-Night is a late night route which runs only Thursday-Saturday nights and begins and ends at the downtown Metro Bus station (5th Ave. N, 1st. St. N). The routes run approximately every 20 minutes and services the south side of St. Cloud. *This bus requires no fare/SCSU ID after 1:50 a.m.*

Northstar Line - Train to City Minneapolis

The Northstar Line offers service between Big Lake and downtown Minneapolis, stopping at stations in Elk River, Ramsey, Anoka, Coon Rapids and Fridley.

It connects with Northstar Link bus service for service to and from St. Cloud.

Jefferson Bus Line - Traveling in Greater Minnesota

Jefferson Lines offers transportation to Minneapolis, Fargo, and Willmar. Tickets for Jefferson Bus Lines may be purchased at the Atwood Memorial Center Information Desk or Metro Bus Station.
(Bus also stops at the Pilot Travel Center but tickets are not available at this location.)

Ride-Share - Carpool Transportation

The Rideshare board is intended to assist students and employees of St. Cloud State University in ride-sharing/car-pooling.

Amtrak - Train System

The Amtrak train station is located north of Highway 23 (555 East St. Germain Street) and is accessible via Metro Bus route.

St. Cloud State University partners with Enterprise-Rent-A-Car for its travel needs for authorized university employees and student employees.
