Celebrating the quality of our work

As you probably know, our visit from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Accreditation Team is scheduled for November 7-8, 2016.

The process of preparing for the visit is well underway and includes documenting our compliance with Federal Guidelines, insuring our adherence to assumed practices and documenting how we meet HLC’s criteria for accreditation. The process also requires on-going work toward institutional improvement as exemplified by the work on Our Husky Compact and the work on using the value rubrics to assess the work of the University as a whole.

Accreditation by the HLC is the standard mark of quality for a higher education institution and we view this process as more than just assuring our accreditation. During the coming months we hope to use our accreditation activities as a chance to showcase and celebrate the quality of the work we do at St. Cloud State. I hope you will join us by serving on one of the HLC writing teams or by sharing information with the writing teams, by participating in working with the value rubrics and Our Husky Compact, by attending one of the meetings about our HLC work, or by simply continuing the high quality work you do every day with our students.
