Undergraduate Programs
Majors and Minors
Programs within the Department of Environmental and Technological Studies are designed to foster environmental and technological literacy and prepare students who can integrate the interconnections of science, technology, society, and the environment through research and assessment. There are four majors and two minors from which students may choose.
Environmental Science Major
Environmental Science major has a natural science focus which provides graduates with opportunities to achieve positions of research, leadership in science, and environmental professions. Environmental Studies Major
Environmental Studies majors experience a multi-disciplinary curriculum with flexible course selection from both the social and natural sciences. This interdisciplinary program prepares students for a wide range of environmentally-based occupations, including management, research and regulation enforcement. Technology Education Major
Technology Education majors graduate with a license to teach technology education in grades 5-12 of Minnesota’s public schools. The curriculum centers on preparing teachers to teach standards based technology education with the incorporation of Project Lead the Way. This program is the only technology education program in Minnesota accredited by NCATE/ITEA/CTTE. See the program description and requirements in the online Undergraduate Bulletin.

Technology Management Major
Technology Management majors are prepared for technology-based positions through a combination of technical and management coursework and experiences. The program is accredited by the National Association of Industrial Technology (NAIT). The degree has two options: Construction Management and Industrial Technology. Environmental Studies Minor or Technology Studies Minor
The department also offers an Environmental Studies minor and a Technology Studies minor (both 24 credits). Either minor would be excellent combined with many majors including biology, chemistry, geography, marketing, general business, graphic design, social sciences, and many others.
