Transfer Admissions

Requirements

Student who have earned 24 or more college-level credits after the completion of high school:

  • Applicants should have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • All credits earned with a grade of "C-" or higher from a regionally accredited university or college-level institution are considered for credit transfer.
  • Transfer credit will not be granted for remedial or non-degree credit as indicated by the sending institution.
  • Applicants should have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
  • Credits from other institutions accredited by agencies recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation will also be evaluated for transfer, but additional documentation may be required.
  • Quarter credits will be converted to semester credits upon transfer.

Students who have earned less than 24 college-level credits will undergo a comprehensive review

  • Provide official transcripts from any regionally accredited university or college.
  • All credits earned with a grade of "C-" or higher from a regionally accredited university or college-level institution are considered for credit transfer- must have a 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must additionally provide official high school transcript(s) and ACT or SAT scores.
  • Admission will be based on freshman admission standards.

Students who have earned credits solely through Minnesota's Post-Secondary Enrollment Options program

  • Apply as a freshmen
  • Must provide official high school transcript(s) and ACT or SAT scores.
  • All credits earned with a grade of "C-" or higher from a regionally accredited university or college-level institution are considered for credit transfer. 

Note: Transcripts from institutions within the Minnesota State system may be retrieved electronically by St. Cloud State. Check the Minnesota State campus list to determine if your college is a system member.
