RN to BS Completion

The RN Baccalaureate Completion Program is for Registered Nurses who are seeking to complete a bachelor’s degree. The nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and is approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing.

NO DEADLINE for Admission.  Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.


  • 30 credit program delivered entirely online
    • Students may need additional credits based on previous educational background (please contact our academic advisor for clarification)
  • One admission cycle per year; if admitted students begin in a fall semester
  • Program covers three semesters (fall, spring, summer) allowing for program completion in one year
  • Cohort based program which includes an internship/capstone project to be completed in the last semester of the program
  • Graduates are eligible for public health certification


At the time of application you must meet the following requirements in order to be considered for the nursing program (eligibility does not assure admission)

  • Completed St. Cloud State University application (including transcripts).
  • Completed RN to BS applications forms will all supporting documentation and references.
  • Evidence of current unencumbered RN licensure in at least one state with eligibility for licensure in MN.
    • Students who have recently graduated from an Associate’s Degree Nursing program and have not yet passed the N-CLEX are welcome to apply.  An RN license is required to begin courses in fall semester.
  • Achieved a minimum cumulative GPA for 2.50 in the previous RN program (based on a 4.0 scale).
  • Completed all admission requirements in University Catalog.

Apply to St. Cloud State University
Applying to the St. Cloud State University (SCSU) RN to BS program is a separate process from applying to St. Cloud State University.

Step 2

Submit RN to BS application
The RN to BS applications are accepted on a rolling basis.


Advanced Standing Admission

Apply Early...Finish Faster

Submit a completed application by Feb. 2 and start on liberal education and upper division requirements now. A completed application by the deadline ensures you are accepted to the program and will begin nursing courses in fall 2022.
