Offsite Proctored Testing

Students who are unable to use our Testing Center can submit an offsite proctor request to our office for review and approval. 

To begin the proctor request process, you will need to know the following:

  • Course and exam information (course prefix, number and whether it requires proctored paper exams, computer exams or both)
  • Proctor’s name
  • Proctor’s job title
  • Proctor’s email address (must be a work or business email address)
  • Proctor’s phone number
  • Proctor’s mailing address (exams cannot be sent to residential addresses)
  • Name and address of testing facility (college, university or testing facility where exams will be completed)

  • Find proctor testing locations in Minnesota.
  • If you live outside of Minnesota or you do not live near a Minnesota State testing facility, you must find a University, Community or Technical College near you. Find a Testing Center near you: www.ncta-testing.org/cctc

Proctor requirements

To be approved as a proctor, the following requirements must be met:

  • Must hold at least a four-year degree
  • Cannot be a friend, relative, immediate supervisor, family friend, current or past teacher at a K-12 school or college or university
  • The proctor must be able to monitor the test the entire time

Who can be approved to serve as a proctor

An acceptable proctor may come from one of the following categories:

  • Administrator or librarian at a community college or university
  • Military Education Officer
  • Official or administrator at a learning/tutoring center
  • Official testing service of an accredited university or college
  • Principal, high school counselor or superintendent of an educational institution – either public or private
