Proctored testing

Proctored testing

A proctored exam is an exam that is administered by an individual who supervises the student while they are taking the exam. The proctor’s function is to ensure the integrity and security of the exam in a secure environment.

Proctored exams are administered at the Testing Center in Brown Hall 115A.

You will need to know your StarID and password. Exams can be scheduled in one-hour blocks. Give yourself adequate time to complete your exam.

You will be given the option to sign up for a paper exam or an online (computer based) exam. Consult your course syllabus for information on the format of your exam or quiz as well as information on time limits and exam deadlines.

Alternate proctor test sites are available on campus most Fridays and during the last two weeks of each academic semester to better meet scheduling needs.

The Testing Center and other alternate proctor testing sites follow the St. Cloud State University Academic Integrity Policy and Procedure in cases of cheating, plagiarism, falsification, collusion, or other instances of academic dishonesty.

You will need to bring your printed email confirmation and photo identification (St. Cloud State ID or driver’s license preferred) to your scheduled proctored test.

Testing Center walk-ins

Online students are expected to schedule exams and can do so up until midnight of the day prior. The Testing Center is able to accommodate walk-in appointments on most days, however the availability of computer stations and paper exam carrels is affected by exam deadline windows set by the faculty. As a result, we will decline walk-in request in some instances. Please plan ahead.
