Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (Certificate)

Students gain an introduction to the fundamental principles of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and how to apply these principles to solve current problems. The Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning certificate program offers a comprehensive, hands-on approach to understanding the role played by AI and machine learning in the world of IT and how applying these principles address the challenges facing us today.

• A comprehensive hands-on approach to understanding the role being played by Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
• Apply Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to the challenges facing us today
• Broad selection of graduate courses
• Explore subjects from multiple perspectives including Computer Science, Software Engineering and Data Science (Statistics)
• State-of-the-art computing facilities including the Integrated Engineering Science and Laboratory Facility (ISELF) Visualization Lab 
• Students have worked with industry partners on projects to build applications that: 
  • Count vehicles and type of vehicles using a mobile camera
  • Recreate a traditional classroom in VR 
  • Use a remote camera and lidar and to operate a robotic arm

Program Distinctions

• Computer Science graduates have gone on to work for Amazon, Google, Guidant, Medtronics, IBM, Beckman Coulter and Thomson Reuters among others. They have also continued on to Ph.D. programs where they have been awarded assistantships.
