2020 Donor Appreciation Virtual Gala

While the COVID pandemic prevents the St. Cloud State University Foundation from hosting its annual Gala in recognition of philanthropic support, you’re invited to pull up a chair, mix yourself a special SCSU signature cocktail or mocktail, It’s Time, Huskies, created by Brick and Bourbon Craft Bar and Eatery (recipe included with invitation) or pour a glass of your favorite wine or beer, and tune in for a special video tribute from President Wacker and others on campus.  It’s our way of saying “thank you” to all the donors that make St. Cloud State a philanthropic priority and for the impact they have on students, faculty and campus!

President’s Town Hall for International Alumni

On Oct. 17, President Robbyn Wacker hosted a Town Hall exclusively for Huskies living outside of the United States.  President Wacker shared information on how St. Cloud State is navigating the COVID 19 pandemic and provided insights into the University’s “It’s Time” strategic planning as the campus reimagines what it will mean to be a regional comprehensive University in the 21st Century.  Hosted by Shahzad Ahmad, longtime Director of Multicultural Student Services, the Town Hall also featured a dynamic video from the current community of international students at St. Cloud State who will offer a window into today’s international student campus experience.

Grant ’63 and Carol Nelson Strength and Conditioning Center Dedication

On Oct. 17, we held a special virtual dedication of the Grant ’63 and Carol Nelson Strength and Conditioning Center.  Hosted by Heather Weems, Director of Athletics, the dedication represents the realization of a vision to provide St. Cloud State’s Division II student athletes with a state-of-the-art facility to support their development and preparation for athletic success.  Women and men student athletes alike will benefit greatly from the Nelson Strength and Conditioning Center.  Likewise the center is expected to provide a big boost to recruiting and positions St. Cloud State athletics for success going forward.  The center is named in recognition for longtime benefactors Grant ’63 and Carol Nelson whose leadership gift helped make the center a reality.  They joined Heather Weems for a special conversation as part of the virtual dedication.  A “live and in-person” open house will be announced for Spring 2021.
