Scott Thome '95 - MBA - HBSScott is currently an officer of St. Jude Medical Inc., a $6 billion bio tech company based in St. Paul, Minnesota.  In January of 2014, Scott was named Global Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain.  

Scott joined St. Jude Medical in 1998 as part of the acquisition of Vascular Science, Inc., a bio tech startup in the Minneapolis area.  He held the position of Director of Program Management & Process Development until October 2004 when he was promoted to Senior Director Program Management. In 2005 he was named Vice President of Operations, and in 2010 he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations of several combined divisions. His scope expanded again when the Cardiovascular and Atrial Fibrillation divisions were combined in 2012.  In January 2014 all operating divisions were combined into one global operation expanding his organization to approximately 10,000 employees worldwide which includes sites in Japan, Malaysia, Europe, Canada, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Costa Rica and multiple locations in the US. 

Previously, Scott held positions in research and development, operations, program management and marketing with Urologix, SCIMED Life Systems (acquired by Boston Scientific in the early 1990’s) and Hutchinson Technology.  

Scott earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Dakota State University in 1985 and an MBA from St. Cloud State University in 1996. He attended the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard University in 2011.
