Huskies First Four

Orientation Leaders

Orientation Leaders

Orientation leaders introduce new students to life at St. Cloud State.

Who should apply?

  • Students who want to be more involved in campus
  • Students who love St. Cloud State and want to share their experiences with others
  • Students wanting to develop their leadership and communication skills
  • Huskies who like to have fun

Some of our Orientation Leaders served as LINK Crew Leaders in high school or as peer mentors at their community colleges. No specific experience required -- just enthusiasm for helping new students and a love for St. Cloud State.

Easily identifiable in their neon shirts, Orientation Leaders work with first year, transfer and adult students. They are at major orientation events, from Opening Ceremony to Academic Orientation, Atwood After Dark to Saturday orientation groups.

Over the summer, Orientation Leaders call and email new students to introduce themselves and answer questions.

  • Applicants will attend one of two group interviews in Atwood Memorial Center:
    • 3-5 p.m. April 4
    • 3-5 p.m. April 5
    • Confirmations will be emailed to selected students on Monday, March 12
  • A spring training day for selected leaders will be on April 22, 2018 in Atwood
  • Orientation Leaders will attend Aug. 20-21 training sessions with PACK Leaders and Orientation Coordinators
  • Orientation staff will fully participate in the Aug. 23-26 Huskies First Four: Days (orientation) schedule
