Check-in steps

Follow these 3 steps to ensure a successful check-in

1. Once you arrive to campus, hang your colored mirror tag in your vehicle; you will be directed to a designated starting lot to begin the check in process.

2. You will then drive to your designated curb side area to unload your vehicle. Husky Haulers will assist you, hauling belongings to your room.

3. Curb side drop off requires that someone stays with your vehicle. They will be directed to a nearby empty car parking lot once unloaded.

Residential Move-In

Our Aug. 22-25 Move-In Days are some of the busiest days on campus. In order to make it a great experience for everyone, follow these guidelines.

New entering first-year and new entering transfer students will move in to residence halls Aug. 22. Specific times will be mailed to students prior to move-in.

All entrances to the middle of campus on Aug. 22 will be barricaded to control traffic flow. Obey directional signs and follow the directions of Public Safety staff members.

Entrances to campus from 9th Avenue:

Returning students

Returning students will move in to residence halls Aug. 23 from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. and Aug. 24-25 from 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

Report directly to unloading areas near your residence hall/apartment, following lot parking guidelines.

Note that parking regulations will be enforced on city streets as marked. Also, parking regulations on campus will be in effect Friday-Sunday for all lots. As a returning student, you likely have your permit. Arriving after 6 p.m. on Aug. 23 will be less congested on campus.

Move-in tips

  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothing.
  • Have someone stay with your belongings after you have unloaded your vehicle if possible.
  • Be sure your vehicle is locked.
  • The elevators get crowded, so expect to get your exercise for the day by using the stairs.
  • Take plenty of breaks as needed.
  • Enjoy this experience with your family. It may be hectic, but it’s the beginning of an exciting time in your life.
  • St. Cloud State is a tobacco-free campus.

Move-in day suggestions

  • If you have your own cart or dolly, please bring it!
  • We have a limited number of flat-bed and deep laundry carts to check out for move-in use. Please bring a driver's license or Husky ID to the front desk of your building to check out a cart.
  • Please also consider bringing a rain tarp or painters plastic to cover your belongings in the event of rain.
  • Charge your cell phones. We may need to call you.

Employee parking

All university employees are directed to take advantage of the Husky Shuttle to access north campus while parking in K-lot throughout the day on Aug. 22. The Husky Shuttle will stop every 10 minutes for pick-up/drop-off at Husky Hub/K-lot and the Wick Science building.

Employees with disability parking passes should contact Public Safety at 320-308-3453 to verify the closest parking available to their destination.
