Huskies First Four: Days


Your first days on campus are the perfect time to meet people and get to know campus.

We know how important the first days and weeks of the semester are to students and their success.

We encourage all new students to continue their participation in events to meet other students, learn more about St. Cloud State and find your way to connect with the Huskies community.

Huskies 1st Four Days is Aug. 23 - 26

 Dozens of events are planned for new Huskies during our First Four Days! Join us for activities including:

Thursday, Aug. 23

  • Move-In, for students living in the residence halls
  • Welcome Luncheon, where all new students & their families join us for lunch in our campus dining hall
  • Campus Quest, an opportunity to explore campus and connect with resources in their offices
  • Huskies Kick-Off, our opening program that features St. Cloud State President Dr. Robbyn Wacker, Mayor Dave Kleis, tons of activities & prizes!

Friday, Aug. 24

  • Academic Orientation, where students will connect with faculty and staff from their college/school to learn more about opportunities for leadership, research, and career development, along with academic expectations and support
  • Respect & Responsibility workshops, required of all new undergraduate degree-seeking students
  • Break-out sessions, including Greek Life, Education Abroad, and many more!
  • Huskies Fun Run & Walk, a chance to explore campus on foot & learn about athletics & wellness programs
  • Atwood After Dark, a campus tradition that brings in high energy activities, free food, prizes, and House Party 101
  • We also offer a condensed orientation program for our Non-Traditional Students on this day, with free childcare available for our student-parents.

Saturday, Aug. 25

  • SCSU 101, an orientation session that brings together presenters from across campus, complete with prizes, videos, and surprises
  • Orientation Groups, a chance for new students to meet with Orientation Leaders to tour campus, find their classrooms, enjoy brunch in the dining hall, and more!
  • Service Saturday, an afternoon full of volunteer projects for new Huskies to help our their new community
  • Club Red, a dance party that brings in DJs to spin top hits, complete with henna tattoo artists, photo booth, karaoke, and globally-inspired appetizers

Sunday, Aug. 26

  • Library Lawn Party, an annual tradition bringing together students with campus resources for a fun, relaxed free lunch & prizes
  • Condensed Orientation, available for students moving into the residence halls on Sunday, or those unable to attend earlier programs.
  • Blacklight Zumba class, available for all Huskies (no experience necessary)
  • Annual Ice Cream Social, a Husky tradition that brings students together to chat over ice cream to prepare for the first day of classes
