|Description:||Speakers. This presentation will examine the reality of booze and other chemicals in womenís lives,
the stereotypes surrounding women and chemical dependency, and how the college scene encourages and supports womenís misuse of alcohol. Think about who benefits from that! Join us for an important session on an issue that has a profound and negative impact on the lives of many college women.
Presenter: Carol Merriman could talk for days about issues related to women and chemical dependency. She graduated from the SCSU masterís program with a degree in counseling psychology and has worked at Recovery Plus in the chemical dependency department for 71/2 years. Merriman works with chemically dependent women and their families and does extensive individual psychotherapy with women who have suffered trauma, are abuse survivors, and have borderline personality disorders.
