General Procedures for Unexpected Death

• If you discover a deceased person or witness a death, immediately call 911.
• Stay with the deceased until law enforcement officials arrive.
• DO NOT move the body or allow anyone else to move it.
• When officials arrive, provide as much detail as possible about the individual.
• Counseling and Psychological Services can provide assistance to individuals who have witnessed the event (320-308-3171).
