St. Cloud State is located about an hour northwest of Minneapolis, along the oak-crowned west bank of the Mississippi River. The St. Cloud metropolitan area is 24th on Forbes magazine's “Best Small Places for Businesses and Careers." St. Cloud State is ranked in Forbes magazine's "America's Top Colleges."
Students are housed two to a dorm room on St. Cloud State campus. Students are assigned to housing by gender and supervised by trained counselors 24/7.
All EducationUSA Academy Program counselors must complete a background check and are supervised by St. Cloud State University personnel.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are in the dining hall. Healthy snacks and beverages are available during the day and evening. Our Garvey Commons dining facility offers delicious, healthy, dining options. We have programs for students with special dietary requirements including halal, kosher, vegetarian and vegan.
The Public Safety Department at St. Cloud State is open 24 hours per day. Uniformed Public Safety Officers respond to all safety, security, or medical requests for assistance, provide on-campus escorts, support campus bus services, monitor and respond to all campus “blue lights”, and enforce the university Code of Conduct. Public Safety Officers also work closely with the St. Cloud Police department. All St. Cloud State Public Safety officers go through a rigorous interview process, and criminal background checks.
A police background check is done on counselors and coordinators.
