Student Organizations and Professional Development Opportunities
Four active student organizations provide social, academic, and professional development for our students. The university also has active Robotics Teams. Two competed when St. Cloud State University hosted this year's Midwest VEX U Regional Qualifier Competition, the largest VEX U regional competition in the United States.
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
IEEE is the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology. Its 370,000 members worldwide learn the importance of organization and formalization through its activities and meetings.
St. Cloud State University Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
Members of St. Cloud State University's chapter organize speakers and events that benefit the student body. They also organize field trips to various local companies of interest, including Xcel Energy, 3M, and others, and support their activities through fundraising initiatives.
Society of Women Engineers
SWE is designed specifically for women in engineering. Each year, it sponsors Horizons, where junior high school girls are invited to spend the day with engineering students to spark an interest in the science and engineering fields.
