ACT Administration Updates

ACT will offer new testing options to students nationally.

Test Format:  Students will have the choice to take the exam in either paper or online format. The online testing option will also allow expedited delivery of results for the multiple-choice exam sections - as soon as two business days after the exam date. Results for the paper-format test and the optional writing section will still be delivered several weeks after testing. For more information, visit the Online Testing FAQ at act.org.

Superscores:  ACT will now offer students a new score reporting option. When sending ACT scores to schools, students can choose to either send the scores from their most recent test, or they can elect to send a superscore, which will compile the highest scores received in each individual section of the test across test dates. For more information, visit the Superscoring FAQ at act.org.

Section Retesting:  ACT will now allow students who have completed the ACT at least once to select individual sections of the test to take again. Previously, students wishing to improve their scores would need to take the entire exam again for a repeat attempt. This new option will allow students to focus on individual areas they may wish to target for improvement. For more information, visit the Section Retesting FAQ at act.org.
