Corporate Education and Outreach is committed to provide industry leading UAS training.  We are developing and delivering training programs to meet the needs of private businesses, government entities and general UAV/S users.

UAS Training

This 28-hour introductory course has been designed to develop the core knowledge and competencies required for students to safely and compliantly operate small unmanned aircraft systems within the National Airspace System. Upon completion of the course, students will be prepared to take the FAA Part 107 exam.

Included in the course

  • 20 hours of classroom and on-line instruction
  • 8 hours of hands-on UAS flight instruction
  • Exam fee for the Part 107 FAA certification exam

About the Instructor

Jonathan Beck is an instructor and program manager of UAS technology at Northland Community and Technical College. He has worked in the aviation industry for over 15 years. He began his career as an air traffic controller. He has worked with Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) technology since 2004.

His career has involved fielding first-of-their-kind small-, medium-, and large-scale UAS programs and operations at the military, state and federal levels and in higher education. He holds a pilot license and enjoys flying traditional aircraft.
