Microsoft Project

This two-day short course is designed for new and developing project managers who who want to improve their control of project schedules.

You'll get hands-on experience with the MS Project 2013 software as you learn to create, update and control projects more efficiently. Our work is based on the Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge.

Dr. Hiral Shah will use a case-study approach to teach you the steps involved in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing projects. MS Project will assist you as you learn to develop plans, assign resources, manage costs, track progress, balance workloads and even forecast project completion date and cost.

  • Introduction to project management
  • Introduction to MS Project
  • Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
  • Project planning and scheduling
  • Managing resources and cost
  • Project tracking and reporting
  • Creating project templates
  • Project closeout

Certification credits:

This course offers 16 hours of Project Management education, which is required to sit for certification exams such as the CAPM® or PMP®.  

This program also has been approved for 16 professional development credits (PDCs) for SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.
