Weddings and Private Events

We believe that every event has its own personality and should be treated that way. We are dedicated to making sure your vision comes to life and are committed to meeting your needs with unparalleled service.

St. Cloud State has some ideal facilities for both the ceremony and reception:

  • Ballroom: A 12,000 square-foot ballroom with a wood floor that can accommodate weddings with 500 or more guests. The ballroom also works well for smaller weddings that prefer to have a dance and meal in the same venue.
Facility charge: prices start at $550
  • Cascade Room: At almost 3,000 square-feet, this room can accommodate smaller sit-down receptions with up to 192 guests. This elegant second level room has stunning maple wood walls and large windows overlooking the campus.
Facility charge: prices start at $350
  • Additional venues: We have rooms of various sizes that can be used for your wedding and reception. Our venues can be booked any time of the year, but our larger rooms are generally more available during the summer months.
Prices vary based on room size

Catering

Catering on campus for meetings and events of any size is provided by The Gathering by Chartwells.

Chartwells’ team of catering professionals can assist you with planning every aspect. The team has designed a variety of menus to fit a wide range of tastes and budgets, including regional ingredients, university favorites and specialty items. Chartwells will create the menu you want.

Cakes

You can bring in your own wedding cake or ask us for options. Chartwells will be glad to provide you with cake cutters for an additional fee, as well as any additional sheet cake you may need.

Parking

St. Cloud State has plenty of parking options. A 500-space parking ramp is located just west of Atwood Memorial Center. Street parking is allowed on some city streets (restrictions are posted). Check the visitor parking page for more information and directions.

Decorations

The Conference and Scheduling Office will work with you to establish a time for you to access the room for decorations. Our staff will work with any professional decorator if you choose to hire one.

Candles are allowed, but the flame must be contained in a glass or fireproof container that will collect the wax and be as least as high as the flame.

Decorations must be removed at the end of the event unless special arrangements are made with the Conference and Scheduling Office.

Table cloths and skirting can be requested with any catering order. Other tables such as a gift table(s) can be skirted and covered by request for no additional charge. Our round tables are 60-inches wide and can accommodate 6-8 guests.

Technical equipment

Each venue has a detailed description of the available equipment built into the room. There is no additional cost for the use of our built in equipment such as CD player, DVD player, microphones, Internet access, house sound system and dimmable lighting.

Guests are also welcome to bring their own technical equipment. More information can be found at our Audio/Video Resources page.

Event day staff

Our professional scheduling staff will work with you to schedule and make arrangements for the room setup. The day of the event a Building Manager will be in the building for the entire time. There is an Information Desk attendant stationed on the main level anytime the building is open to help answer questions and direct guests.

The catering staff will also have a catering manager on site. Trained Public Safety officers are available on campus 24/7 to assist with any emergencies.

Accessibility

The larger venues are on the second level and are serviced by three elevators: A service elevator adjacent to the loading dock and back hallway of the ballroom, plus two public elevators.
