Dr. Mary Earick is an Associate Research Professor and Director of the Holmes Center at Plymouth State University. The Holmes Center is a policy innovation center that partners with school districts in a problems of practice model of innovation. The Center optimizes resources based on evidence of sustaining impact on the lives of children and youth around persistent educational problems and dilemmas. Mary has developed personalized inclusive educational pathways grounded in co-teaching and evaluation with both preservice and inservice educators, redefining the role of universities in transformative university-school partnerships. Mary began her career as a full inclusion public-school teacher for sixteen years in New Haven, Connecticut prior to entering higher education. Her public-school teaching is featured in the documentary and book “Starting Small: Teaching Tolerance in the Early Years,” produced by Teaching Tolerance, a project of the Southern Poverty Law Center. She is the author of Racially Equitable Teaching published by Peter Lang
