Community College Connection

Technology & Tools

Technology plays a big role in the day to day life of a college student and can help students tremendously in their success. This section lists information about the various technology aspects of your college experience.  It's important to feel knowledgeable about and comfortable with these tools.

Email and ID Number

Email is the official form of communication that your professors and staff will use to contact you. As a Connection student you will have two student ID numbers (one for each school) and only one email account.

Professors will contact you through your student email account. If you live on campus, important housing information will be sent to your student email account. St. Cloud State will also send you information about on campus events and other information to that account, so it is important that you regularly check your student email account.

You will only have one star ID and password for both schools. You will likely only need a St. Cloud State ID card but are welcome to obtain an ARCC ID card for any needs you may have on that campus.

Accessing your account

In order to log in to your student email account, you must use the following format: and the password you use is your Star ID password.

It is recommended you add your school email to your smartphone.

Your St. Cloud State ID card gets you access to:

  • Campus cash

  • And more

You'll use your ARCC ID to register for classes.

You are eligible to get campus card from both institutions. To make sure you can get your St. Cloud State ID card and take full advantage of all the services available to you, make sure to activate your St. Cloud State email before requesting your card.

If you still have trouble accessing your ID card, contact program staff at 320-308-1047.

You will have access to both St. Cloud State and ARCC's eServices pages.

EServices has a great deal of useful information.

ARCC eServices gives you access to:

  • Grades
  • Transcripts
  • Financial aid information
  • Billing and payments
  • Class registration
  • Accuplacer placements

St. Cloud State eServices gives you access to:

  • Billing and payments
  • Housing information
  • St. Cloud State class registration (when you transfer)

D2L Brightspace

Course work is also often accessed through the online learning platform D2L.  Students should sign in daily to D2L to check for updates from instructors.  This is also where you can see your current grade in a course.  This link provides more detailed information about how to use D2L at ARCC or how to get help with this technology tool as well as the log in link: D2L Brightspace

Once you're ready to get your books for classes, you can bring a copy of your schedule to the Husky Bookstore on the St. Cloud State campus and the bookstore staff will help you find them.

You can charge your books to financial aid during the first three days of the semester only if your FAFSA is fully processed and you have an award letter on eServices.
