The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast and Day of Service honors the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. On this day we commemorate Dr. King's dream of a multiracial nation united in justice, peace, and reconciliation.

Keynote Address

Wil Haygood

The breakfast will feature a keynote address by best-selling author, prize-winning journalist, acclaimed biographer and cultural historian Wil Haygood who tells the story of America through the lens of history, politics, sports, race and the lives of change-making African-Americans. Best known as the author of the New York Times bestsellers The Butler and Showdown, his work has chronicled America’s civil rights journey through acclaimed biographies of Thurgood Marshall, Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., Sammy Davis, Jr., Sugar Ray Robinson and Eugene Allen, the real-life inspiration for Lee Daniels’ award-winning film, The Butler.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast is free and open to the public however registration is required. Registration opens November 30, 2018 and closes on January 18, 2019. Seating is limited. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. The breakfast begins at 8 a.m.

Where is the best place to park?

All parking lots on campus will be open for free parking. All restricted and disability parking sites are enforced. (see campus map
