In addition to this survey, based on a formula developed by the office of Strategy, Planning & Effectiveness from the Spring 2018 Student Survey results, indicates that:

  • 61 percent of our students are involved in service via their coursework for a total of 1.5 million hours annually or approximately 2.6 hours per student per week.

  • 69 percent of our students are involved in volunteering on their own for a total of 1.8 million hours annually or approximately 3.2 hours per student per week.

To account for possible duplication the mid-point for each category of service hours was used and when averaged, our St. Cloud State students, in total, provided more than 1.65 million hours of service (of any type) during 2017-2018.
