The mission of the St. Cloud State University Alumni Association Board is to build and sustain lifelong relationships between St. Cloud State and its alumni, students and friends by promoting the mutual success of the University. The St. Cloud State Alumni Association is a non-dues-paying organization, and all alumni are viewed as members. The Alumni Association's Board collaborates with SCSU's Advancement & Alumni Engagement department to identify opportunities to connect alumni, celebrate those connections to St. Cloud State, and continue involvement in the life of the University.

The St. Cloud State University Foundation was formed in 1958 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization to provide a means for alumni, friends and corporations to make tax deductible contributions in support of the University. The Foundation operates on a July 1 fiscal year. The Foundation is governed by an independent Board of Trustees whose operating structure is set forth in its by-laws. The Board consists of Officers and Committee Chairs who comprise the Executive Committee and the general membership of the Board.
