New Student Checklist

Before your Advising & Registration Day

  • Send Transcripts of AP, IB, or CLEP tests; the PSEO program; or college courses offered in the high school to the Records and Registration Office. If scores and transcripts are not yet available please bring with you a listing of the courses/tests
  • If you plan on living on campus, please complete the application form by visiting the Residential Life website and clicking on the On-campus housing application.
  • If you did not graduate from a Minnesota high school, or if you graduated from a high school prior to 1997, you are required to fill out an Immunization Form prior to registering for courses. Please visit the Health Services Immunization site. You will be provided with instructions and a link to the online immunization form. If you have questions about this requirement please contact Health Services at 320-308-3191.
  • If you are a student who requires accommodations due to a disability, please contact Student Disability Services (320-308-4080) at least two weeks prior to your Advising Day to request accommodations for your Advising Day.
  • We encourage all students to apply for federal and state financial aid.
    • Financial aid includes grants, work study, scholarships, and loans and is available to all income levels. Applying for financial aid is free when you use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). St. Cloud State’s federal school code is 002377. We recommend that you apply for financial aid each year by the first part of March or as soon as you complete your federal income tax returns.
    • Transferring to St. Cloud State from another school? Remember to include St. Cloud State's school code (002377) on your FAFSA and ask your previous school cancel any pending financial aid for the term you are transferring to St. Cloud State.
    • Additional information about How to Apply For Financial Aid is available on the Student Registration and Financial Services website.
  • Review your confirmation mailing which will arrive shortly before your scheduled Advising and Registration Day
  • Contact the Advising and Student Transitions office (320-308-6075) if you have any questions about your arrival time or placement testing options.
