Be a Student Advisor

Student Advisors help students transition to St. Cloud State. They welcome new students and lead them through the Advising and Registration Day process by assisting with presentations and providing support during course registration.

Applications for Summer 2019 are due Feb. 13.

Position Description and Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist new students and their guests during Advising and Registration Days
  • Work collaboratively with St. Cloud State faculty and professional advisors by leading group team-building exercises and giving small group presentations
  • Provide a positive connection between St. Cloud State and new incoming students
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, reliability, teamwork, and punctuality
  • Facilitate group team-building activities and small group presentations with faculty and professional advisors
  • Advise new students about course registration, general education requirements, and student life information with a faculty or professional advisor

Time Commitment

You must attend all training sessions and Advising Days.

Training: June 5-7

Dress Rehearsal: June 10

Advising Days:

June 11-13, 17-19, 24-26

July 23-25
