Sarah Desotell

Tristan RichardsGet to know Sarah Desotell!

I graduated with my bachelors from Bemidji State. During my time there I found my passion in advising as a student advisor. I then transitioned to St. Cloud State for my master's degree in College Counseling and Student Development and have found my calling as an academic advisor. When not at St. Cloud State you can find me doing many things. I kept the list short:

  • Coaching Softball and Basketball all year round.
  • Being outdoors (Hunting, fishing, bow fishing, hiking, canoeing, attending live concerts or rodeos, snowmobiling, and farming with my family).
  • Traveling: trying to get to all 50 states (over 1/2 way) Traveled to 4 continents in one year.
  • DIYer: Recently completed a remodel of my kitchen and now onto the rest of the house. Am a huge Pinterest fan and love doing wood crafts.
  • Food: I love trying new recipes and canning. My favorite thing to make is smoked ribs with BBQ sauce. SO GOOD!!

How long have you been at St. Cloud State?

What's your best memory at St. Cloud State?

What advice would you give a new student as they transition into St. Cloud State?

College is a time to find oneself so be open to explore and try new things.

Why St. Cloud State?

It is where I earned by master's degree but much more than that. The opportunities that St. Cloud State has is immense. Plus the A&ST staff and faculty are family that are driven by the same passion: HELPING STUDENTS
